The structure which welcomes visitors to the Striezelmarkt is designed and constructed in the style of a historic pavilion once a year, with demonstration workshops for Striezel baking and traditional wood carving from the Ore Mountains. The pavilions are made with a wooden frame constructed on top of a steel platform built over the fountain.
The fairytale houses feature an advent calendar and are made from wood. Some of them are also constructed on a steel platform built over a fountain. The façades are decorated with fairytale characters and adorned with colourful lights.
